Kurtis are everything nowadays- starting from casual college wear to the perfect attire for social events. An integral part of modern attire, kurtis often combine both modern and traditional aspects of fashion. Traditional fashion is often discarded easily in the modern era. As a direct consequence of Western influence, people are naturally more inclined towards Western wear. However, certain modern lifestyle brands are coming up with an unique blend of both. Craftsmanship with regard to kurtis is something indigenous in the country. The most famous form of craftsmanship in kurtis is, however, in the case of Chikankari kurtis. Chikankari kurtis are made using muslin or cotton. What makes the piece of cloth more special is the embroidery. Drawing inspiration from a Persian word, modal Lucknowi kurtis can be worn daily. The usage of pastel colours, like pastel blue or pastel pink, has also kind of shifted to deeper and darker hues. The craft is quite intricate in nature. In addition to these , there are certain kurtis which are not specifically chikankaris , but have intricate floral embroideries on them . The combinations of bright colours like green , lavender , or periwinkle add to the intensified beauty of the threadwork in white against the piece .
