Taare Zameen Par (Stars on the Earth) is a 2007 Hindi language film produced and directed by Amir Khan. Dyslexia is a disease which is quite uncommon. The child who is dyslexic is unable to read letters and alphabets, and understand them. The letters are inverted in the child’s eyes. Ishan Awasthi is an eight-year-old kid, who is dyslexic and the center of disrespect and sheer bullying. He is bullied by his neighborhood kids, and his father blames him for being an irresponsible kid. He is sent to a hostel, as a means of repairing his ways.
The ordeal the young kid goes through changes how he perceives the world, and leaves him broken. The only thing which gave him solace, painting, gets snatched away from him, leaving him helpless. His only comfort zone is his best friend, Rajesh, who stands by his side through thick and thin. The final act, in which he finally gains recognition, is tear jerking. The central character being a child, the movie is still impactful. The masterful acting of the young child actor drives through the film to deliver the message that every child is unique , and has his or her unique talent , distinguishing them from others .
