The topic of being hands-on vs remembering topics and dates has been a featured discussion for many decades now. There are many statements to back both, and countries around the world have an education system that follows either practice.
While there’s a constant debate about piling students and individuals with information and how practical implementation can be beneficial we are regularly brought into a dilemma around;
- How rote learning has featured in education systems for ages, and what significance does it hold?
- Rolling up sleeves and doing things practically has a different value for humans
- Balancing remembering insights and hands-on experience requires a middle path to coexist.
Handpicking the best path: As easy as it may seem while conversing, there’s a deep science behind what learners select and how they approach empowering themselves. For one side of the audience, remembering names using different methods and analysing concepts via easy-to-remember shortcuts is a thrill, while for others, putting facts and figures on paper and granular break-ups give a different high.
However, no matter what method is used or devised, the end goal must be to learn, debate, and become better people through learning that matters.
Furthermore, let’s remember that the idea is to blend the best of both practices and create better pit stops where new ideas and methods can be adopted to keep the learning curve moving northwards!
Grasp what you feel is right, put the learning into practice and make the future look towards you to define intellect that inspires!
Let’s learn, grow and reach new heights!
