Reports of Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja’s alleged divorce sparked headlines earlier today, with claims that Sunita had filed a petition in the Bandra Family Court citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion under Section 13 (1) of the Hindu Marriage Act. The couple, who have been married for nearly four decades, was also reported to be undergoing court-mandated counselling since June this year.
However, just hours later, Sunita Ahuja put an end to the speculation with a heartfelt interview. Speaking to Eat Travel Repeat, she expressed her deep affection for the actor, insisting that no one could ever love him as she does. “I know when he feels hungry, when he needs a Coke, or when he suffers from acidity. Nobody understands Govinda the way I do because I truly love him from within. Nobody can ever love or know him like me,” she said.
When asked which version of her husband she preferred, Sunita nostalgically replied, “The Govinda of the 90s. I prefer that Govinda. Purana Govinda, waapas aaja. Mera Chi Chi, aaja mere paas.” She also proudly showcased her engagement rings, dismissing rumours of separation.
Interestingly, the video interview appears to have been shot before August 14, based on her outfit matching a social media post from that day, suggesting it predates her first vlog released eight days ago. In that vlog, Sunita had shared an emotional moment at a temple, recalling how she once prayed to Maa Kali for her marriage to Govinda and remains confident that divine blessings will protect her family.
Despite swirling rumours, Sunita Ahuja’s recent words and actions reflect loyalty and affection, reaffirming that her bond with Govinda remains strong.
