You are thousands of miles away
I remember you more than ever
on this special day
But alas we can’t be together
to celebrate this ocassion with pomp and fervor
Messages, emails and phone calls
do not have the same effect
That seeing you smile with happiness and joy have while you tie me a Rakhi, handpicked without any defect
When I look into the mirror and notice my reflection
I thank God everyday for sending me a sister who loves and cares for me notwithstanding my imperfection
