Women empowerment is not just a mere term. Empowerment, itself, is more than just words. It needs to be implemented, not just talked about. In this particular scenario, the practical impact matters more than anything else. The term directly refers to empowering women. Women are generally considered to be of the second sex. They were deprived of certain basic rights in the past, such as voting rights, or the right to be a part of religious or other kinds of events. However, with a drastic change in time, rights are gradually being granted and women have become independent.
Nowadays, women can live an independent life if they want to choose one. However, certain social constraints still exist making it a mixed situation, witnessing both progression and regression. When a woman returns home from office in the evening, she still has to cook dinner for the family. It is not expected of the working husband to cook for a change. Be it property rights, or ownership of homes, or the rising number of domestic abuse cases which were recorded during the 2020 Covid pandemic, the cases just never seem to disappear. In a country where the Goddess is worshipped , the situation is ironical .
