In this fast moving world we often tend to ignore the relevance of our overall health and particularly our mental health.Mental Health of late should be given importance especially in urban areas where people are living a stressful life.One has to reach the office on time,complete the work within deadlines and take care of his family.There is an increasing debate regarding the work life balance.Of late we can find corporates holding yoga sessions for employees by highlighting the importance of pranayams and asanas.These practices when done daily can highly cut down the levels of stress and work pressure.
Although there are many forms of mental health issues,we can’t conclude that a normal person cannot be a victim of stress.Anxiety is important but depression should be avoided.Anxiety helps in our day to day performance if managed effectively.Depression in the other hand attaches us to the results and failing to achieve our goals.
At times when you are stuck let go of what you can’t do.Believe in the saying “Efforts are more important than the outcome of your efforts”.
One may have many forms of health issues but mental health issues are such that we may need to survive with medications.It can’t be ignored.Other than medications the following activities can help in work related stress like :
1) Listening to music.
2) Doing excercises regularly.
3) Practising yoga.
4) Enjoying a walk in a beach.
5) Reading Books.
6) Enjoying nature.
7) A trip to your village.
8) A trek in the valleys.
These are just some of the measures through which our mental health can be better and we can be more productive in our daily lives.Like all forms of health we can actually conclude that mental health should be taken care of in this fast paced world.
