Sports Apparel and Merchandise
Puma is currently one of the biggest sports apparel houses in India. The merchandise and items sold in the store are genuinely of the highest quality. However, it’s home brand is foreign in nature. Originally established in Germany, the Puma SE is a German athletic and footwear corporation. It is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, Germany. In current times, Puma is the third largest sportswear manufacturer in the world. The company was founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler. Previously, in 1924, the Dassler brothers had jointly formed a company, which went along well up to 1948, when the brothers split up.
Following the split in 1948, Rudolf originally registered the company as Ruda. However, the name was changed to Puma later. Puma’s earliest logo comprised a square and a beast, most probably a panther, jumping through a d (adhering to the previous name allotted to the footwear corporation). As of 2022, Puma is operational successfully across 120 countries on a worldwide scale. At the 1952 Summer Olympics, 150 meters runner Josy Barthel, hailing from Luxembourg won Puma’s first Olympic Gold in Helsinki, Finland. At the 1960 Summer Olympics, Puma paid German sprinter Armin Harry to wear footwear produced by the company in the 100 meters race .
