A key is known
A small metal thing
It opens doors, briefcases, and lockers
But in us —
In this troublesome human sphere —
Another key lives in the form of words
Now, when used right
They do free the humane quality
Locked inside a man
They walk into a troubled heart,
And take out the rot,
Leaving prospect behind
Now well-structured words
Can end arguments
And win hearts
So why do we walk stupid?
For we carry a weapon
That solves most problems
And it is in our pockets
All free to use
We should be careful, though.
For words cut too
A key can unlock
A key can wound
So let us use it wisely
