The Galaxy Shroud
On a tranquil moonlit night,
The moon looks down upon the earth;
The silver light therefore spreads out:
Like a shroud covering the lush green grass –
There she lays on the grass
Lying bare her curly hair
A sea of black curls
Set firmly against the grass
Her big black eyes gaze
At the gazillions of stars above
Like sparkling dots on the firmament
Set like crystal stones on the blank canvas
The kohl in her eyes is splattered
Like ink splatters on a blank piece of paper
The blue cotton saree adorning her figure
Is like a skeleton surrounding the body
The blue sea coming to life amidst a sandstorm
The white laced blouse glows like a star
A scenery of tranquility and peace
The blue flower on her hair
Like the midnight lyre
Emitting a melodious tune
Gleaming through the loop of darkness
Breaking into light
Slowly .
