They say we are free
But are we really free?
What does it mean to have freedom?
When the constitution guarantees our rights,
The government does not.
Politics, religious fanaticism, corruption, patriarchy
Is everywhere now.
The coloniser may have left
But has left his legacy behind
Legacy of an inferiority complex and a reverence of all things English and western
Free are the birds who sing every morning
Free is the land that shields the earth
Free is the grassland that covers the earth
Free will be my motherland too
If we let go of neo-imperialism.
Free will be my motherland too
When we integrate innovation with our own culture.
