- What does women empowerment mean to you in today’s society?
Ans Women Empowerment means, women who can make their own decisions. Decision dynamically at the right time. Women who stand for her decisions and never feel low compared to their men counterparts.
- In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges women still face in achieving equality?
Ans The biggest challenge is their decision to stand for herself and her will. Once a lady decides no one and nothing can change it, yet it is important that she knows what she is doing.
In this regards, there is a lot government policies can make a difference; like equal salary for men and women with equivalent qualification and experience.
Women as mother has to give the upbringing at home both to son and daughter that they are equal.
In schools also it is the teachers responsibility to impart good values.
- How can education play a role in empowering women, especially in rural or marginalized communities?
Ans Education is key to development. If given the right education kids can be the pillar of the nation. In rural and marginalized communities; the impart of right education can happen if we install right tutors or teachers; it takes a generation to change but it is possible. But who will want to go to those areas and teach; there comes the government policies where after graduation every individual gets chance to teach for 1-2 years in a school in rural areas. And a lot can be done at home; but this happens when parents are themselves aware of the values.
- What role do literature and storytelling play in promoting women empowerment?
Ans literature plays a very important role. The «Kalidas» learnings and «Rahims» learnings we have for example as a literature in almost everyone’s teachings. The folklores; the storytelling creates a greater impact as that has been created by our ancestors. Likewise we can create our stories for our future generations to literate them about mother or women as a «Kali» or the «Shakti». The stories where women empowerment is taught. And this would carry for generations. It can be printed as books and distributed. So literature plays a key role here.
- How can society encourage more women to become independent and confident in their choices?
Ans That comes from upbringing, the values learned from school and how our elders in the family has raised us. Women empowerment comes with ages and generation of tedious practices. That take generation and the key role is played by the women herself. First she makes her own decisions for righteousness and then she imparts to her children at home and then in schools and colleges.
- What message would you like to give to young girls who aspire to make a difference in the world?
Ans Be independent; stand on your feet and create a new generation who would stand for themselves. This can be done in the form of a mother, teacher and other roles as and when it comes in her life.
-Impart knowledge, be independent and stand for your decisions in life ;
