In this candid conversation, we delve into his inspirations, process, and the essence behind his work.
What inspired you to write Soulmate of a Searchlight?
Answer: This is not a result of any external inspiration, but the guidance of my own inner voice. For a long time, whenever I would get into a meditative state, the universe would constantly prompt me to follow this path.
How has the positive reception on Amazon impacted you personally and professionally?
Answer: It really makes me glad when the work in which I have put so much effort is appreciated with such a talented pool of readers.
Personally, it’s an enriching experience. And at a professional level I am poised to aim for an endeavour which is bigger than this project.
Can you share a personal spiritual experience that influenced your writing style or themes?
Answer: Since last many years, I have experienced the existence of a higher power on many occasions. This universe is completely mysterious and we understand it only on the basis of our limited beliefs. However, everyday I experience the presence of a higher power and it assists me to attain my super consciousness stage and I am constantly being guided and my good wishes are getting manifested. And having experienced it, I cannot dare to deny its existence.
Among your hobbies, which one most often sparks new ideas for your stories and why?
Answer: Spirituality is synonymous with the ocean in many ways. Its vastness is immeasurable. Its depth is unfathomable. There is so much in it that even your own life will fall short to reach it. When the mind is calm, the supreme power reflects in it like the moon. Then ideas start flowing from within spontaneously. It takes you to a zone where you are in complete oneness with existence and you feel as if the story is happening on its own. You are just watching and the story is happening in front of your eyes.
How do you balance deep emotional storytelling with engaging the reader’s curiosity?
Answer: To craft a memorable narrative that has a balanced emotional depth with engaging reader curiosity, I let plot developments stem from characters’ inner struggles. In my writing you will find that slow, reflective scenes are mixed with faster action and strategic self sustained suspenses.
If Soulmate of a Searchlight were to be adapted into a film, how would you envision it — and who would play the lead roles?
Answer: A movie adaptation of Soulmate of a Searchlight could be a delicate, immersive experience—less plot-driven romance and more a visual poem of spiritual yearning. The right actors and filmmaker could transform its philosophical core into something cinematic and profoundlyheart-touching.
I feel Nawazuddin Siddiqui is capable of tapping into mysticism and rich interior worlds.
.What advice would you give to aspiring authors who wish to infuse spirituality and human emotions into their writing?
Answer: The the kind of advice I’d give an aspiring author who wants to weave spirituality and human emotion into their work that write about lived experiences, not lofty ideas and write with humility, not with authority.
