Travel : A feel of home
Travel always greets us with stories at every corner of the globe. As a travel blogger, I have observed that along with the place it’s the people that make travel a homecoming.
Hills have their own charm, and the sea teaches the art of yearning and finally settling for peace. My closeness with travel has taught me not to forget how to converse with myself. Every place gives me a memory I find hard to let go off but easy to cherish.
Travel and food also have a beautiful connection. I mean, for all you readers I will happily mention that having Maggi at your own homes feels different but having it from a food truck just makes it more thrilling. Through my voyages I have realised that India is full of narratives, one can only find them through travel, the more you travel, you build a home for yourself which makes you learn and unlearn the joys of living the life of a curious backpacker.
A New Beginning
I grew up in the hills, and always perceived beauty with peace. I acquired a PHD in Sociology, being closely associated with Sociology I always had the chance to study society, people around me closely. Sociology taught me that society never has the power to mirror our individualities, we mirror society through our own window of thoughts.
When I got married, I found a new beginning like never before. I was always fond of studying about tribes, their culture, values, traditions, after I got married my love to closely study the local culture roots across regions turned into my passion and I began my journey as a travel blogger. It’s been one of the most beautiful beginnings I have curated for myself, not only does it give me confidence but it gives me a sense of peace that I’m grateful for.
Local turning Global
I have always found beauty in all that is local, and I thank the hills for teaching me the art of noticing the beauty in the local arena. Hills are always covered with wooden houses, even certain shops in the Himalayas sell toys and other artifacts made of wood. Going down the memory lane, as a young girl I used to always visit the shops that sold wooden toys, I noticed the beauty behind carpentry.
In my travel stories I make it a point to talk to the local artisans and hear their stories, they teach me how delicate art truly is. I would like to encourage more and more people to believe in the local, so that together as a country we can make the local reach the global stage. The hard work of artisans all across India should not go unnoticed.
